The Corvette legend is all about low-slung, aggressive good looks, muscular V8 power, outstanding roadholding and that spacious yet intimate 2-place cockpit. For 2011, that legend is available in a whole family of great sports cars ? Coupe and Convertible, Grand Sport, Z06 and the awesome, range-topping ZR1. Horsepower ranges from 430 to an amazing 638. The available technologies include carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fibre body panels, electronic launch control and much more. Every Corvette comes with an unmatched competition heritage. And every Corvette has what it takes to give you the thrill of a lifetime.
With a 430 hp LS3 V8 under the hood, a choice of precise manual or automatic 6-speed transmissions,
a
competition-proven four-wheel independent suspension and that dramatic,
unmistakable profile, Corvette Coupe and Convertible are 100% pure
sports car. They're also engineered with an eye for efficiency. Test
track top speed is in excess of 300 km/h, yet Corvette Coupe and
Convertible use just 7.7 litres of fuel per hundred kilometres of
highway driving.** Corvette Convertible offers an available power top
that raises and lowers in just 18 seconds.
Grand Sport models combine the premium sports-car engineering of Corvette Coupe and Convertible with the track-oriented suspension and braking componentry of Z06. How does it work? In the 2010 Car and Driver Lightning Lap, a Grand Sport Coupe lapped faster than the Audi R8 V10 and the Porsche 911 Carrera S and finished 3rd overall out of 22 street-legal entries. On the test track, Grand Sport Coupe delivers 1g of lateral acceleration and can go from 0 to 96 km/h in less than four seconds. Yet it consumes just 12.9 litres of fuel per hundred kilometres in the city and a mere 7.7 litres per hundred kilometres on the highway.** That's what engineers call bandwidth.
Co-developed with the Le Mans-winning Corvette race car, the
lightweight, fixed-roof Z06 is the ideal Corvette for a day at the
track. There's a 505 hp 7.0LV8 under the hood and strong but light
materials like aluminum, magnesium and carbon fibre abound. For 2011,
Corvette Z06 ups the performance ante yet again, with available
equipment packages that include some of the most serious technology from
the range-topping ZR1 supercar, Brembo® carbon ceramic brakes, Magnetic Selective Ride Control®,
a body-colour carbon-fibre hood and roof panel: it's all there for the taking.
A true high-tech supercar, the 638 hp ZR1 is the fastest, most
powerful Chevrolet production car of all time. It's also the overall
winner of the 2010 Car and Driver Lightning Lap competition, in which
the world's best sports cars raced for fastest lap at Virginia
International Raceway. In addition, the ZR1 is one of the world's
fastest production cars around the 20.8 km Nordschleife course at the
Nürburgring in Germany, with a lap time of 7:26.4 on stock street tires.
Included with your ZR1 is the ultimate experience of learning
performance driving. Tuition is paid for at your choice of Bob
Bondurant School of High Performance Driving near Phoenix or the Ron
Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain near Las Vegas.?
If you're looking for the ultimate Corvette, this is it.
